Ventilation systems encourage airflow & healthy breathing

At home or at work – ventilation systems are essential to encourage airflow and promote healthy breathing. Sub-par ventilation results in the growth of mould and the build-up of dust and other nasties. Encourage healthy breathing and aid asthma and allergies with the right ventilation.

Blue Air & Electrical supplies a range of sub-floor ventilation systems

Keep a healthy circulation of air beneath the floor in your home. Sub-floor ventilation keeps unnecessary moisture out of the air that’s making its way through your home.

  • Sub-Floor Ventilation Exhaust System

  • Sub-Floor Supply System

  • Balanced Pressure System

Keep mould at bay

Moisture is an absolute dream for mould. Keep the mould away with sub-floor ventilation. This type of ventilation, designed for homes and businesses, encourages airflow and discourages moisture, keeping mould at bay in your home or business.

Healthy airflow

No one wants mould or dust in their home. When moisture builds up below your floor’s surface, particles from dust and spores from mould can circulate through your home via the air. Sub-floor ventilation eliminates this, encouraging healthy airflow and healthy residents.

Our ventilation FAQs

  • This will depend on your home and the size you require for your ventilation system. Typically, though, you can expect an additional $50-$200 on your electricity bill each year.

  • Yes, it will. Sub-floor ventilation systems work by boosting the airflow in your home and extracting the damp air from the space. The extraction of the damp air allows the dry, fresh air to enter your home via your flooring. By installing this below the floor, we prevent excess moisture from entering your home, keeping it dry and free from those environments that grow bacteria and mould.

  • Mechanical sub-floor ventilation is where we install a powered ventilation system using fans and ducting. This provides cross-flow and lateral ventilation across the entirety of your sub-floor void. This creates passive ventilation within your home or building.

We’ll determine the size of your system by measuring the cubic volume of your subfloor area, as well as the area that needs to be ventilated. Then, we’ll design the system, ensuring it’s effective in ventilating the space.

These systems are often installed with digital timers. The timers are configured to control how often the system operates. Homeowners can also opt to have these running at all times.

  • There are so many different ways moisture can rise through your sub-floor and up into your home.

There are the obvious ways: a drip from a leaky pipe, a significant amount of rainfall or flooding, and of course, water entering the home through windows, ceilings, and other gaps and cracks.

There are less obvious ways, though. One example is damp soil. The soil under your home can become damp, and when it starts its typical process of evaporation, it comes up and into your home.

Regardless of how the moisture enters your home, if it isn’t effectively ventilated, the moisture will be trapped within the space.

Sub-floor ventilation ensures this doesn’t happen and ventilates your home, removing that moisture.

  • Without sub-floor ventilation, any moisture in your home will remain trapped. Moisture build-up is the ideal environment for bacteria and mould to grow – which can have awful effects on your and your family’s health.

As well as your own health, moisture can be dangerous for your home’s health, too. Many of the structural components of your home, along with your personal items, can rot with too much moisture. You can protect your home and your belongings with appropriate ventilation.
